I need help. I had to RMA 3 items:
1. CPU
2. MOBO
3. Powersupply
I overnight the package via UPS, and New Egg stated that they only recieved the MOBO and Powersupply, but now CPU? How is that possible? The package was close wrap and closed really well. I think someone in New Egg could of stolen or misplaced the CPU? Any Advices? The CPU is worth about $220, and customer service is going to give $65.00. Thats about 30% off? Any advice?
tell them to recheck all of the packaging, did you put all 3 items in the same box? if they didnt get one of the items file a claim with UPS.

You might try PM'ing our Newegg Rep here (http://www.ocforums.com/member.php?u=58970) and see what kind of help he can give you. :) He has helped many members here with problems with RMA's and such.

That's odd, NewEgg is has always been really good about their RMA's with me and others.
I think they have some of the best customer support i've had to deal with. I'm sure you'll get it straightened out.

Hear! Hear! I have to agree.
tell them to go through all the packaging again...
are you 100% without a doubt sure that you put it in there?
do you have pictures to help state your case?

I just made a claim with UPS. I am 100% sure that I put the cpu in the box, because I made sure that I put it in the box and I put it in a bubble wrap next to the other items. I think that some one new egg probably misplaced it or threw it away by accident. Because I used also shopping bags for insulation. It could of been easily miss places. I dont know what is the process over there. But I am out $250 if UPS doesnt reimburse. New Egg stated that they CANT do nothing. So, I dont know. It seems it easier to blame other than take responisblity.

Well,
Without any proof, you are pretty much SOL.
I always ALWAYS take photos of items I am returning so i have evidence of the condition of the item(s) before it leaves my house..... So when something like this does happen, I have proof for a claim and such.
I hope things workout in your favor.

Wait a couple days. If your luck is anything like mine, you're gonna find the processor either in the fridge or under your couch cushion.

Thats not possible. Because my house has on coaches or sofa. I only have a table and I remember specifically put the cpu in the box, because it was the last thing I put? So, no luck. I am SOL? Basically New Egg could get away with my item or and employee could just pocket the cpu? What about accountabilty?

Poor guy. I wonder, is it better to have lots of places to lose things, so there's a chance that it will turn up? Or better to have no hope from the start?

Did you try getting in touch with the Newegg rep here on the forums that I provided a link to in my previous post? That is why he is here on these forums; to help with issues with orders or RMA's with Newegg.
I went ahead and sent him a PM with a link to this thread for you.

I was thinking the same thing, they have always been great with customer service!!
The 11's are very unprofessional. LOL. I just did a RMA on a HD and it was taken care of quickly and they sent me a new one no problem.

I already got in contact via pm with the contact with new egg. Thank you for that help.
You people say that I am going to write new egg is that best. Is that what you think. Let me finish the story then.
06/02/08, I submitted my package overnight via UPS. I had to contact New Egg in regards to my package. I didnt get an email from New Egg until 06/09/08. Then I get an email saying that the cpu was not in the package. Then they gave me a theory that maybe it got lost in transit. So, I told the people at new egg. So, the package was sent overnight, someone at UPs opened the box, took out the cpu, but left the mobo and powersupply, put it back in the box, and still devilered in 12 hours in california. I find that quite strange. I have a best friend that works for UPS and he advised me that theory in close to impossible. The likey hood of new egg mistaking place the item is greater. So, that where I stand. I made a claim with UPS and I have to wait to see what happens. And yes, my house only has 1 table and no sofa or chips. It seems that there is no accoutabilty in new egg rma department. Because, all of them told, sorry there nothing we cant do, you need to file a claim. So I did.
I am a fair person, and I am very reasonable. But it bothers me that it seems that no one has answer and no one in new egg is able to go the extra mile. I guess, it because I work customer service, and I ALWAYS go the extra 2 miles to make my clients happy.

I'm glad Newegg's RMA rocked as I never needed to RMA anything in the past few years. Now if they can explain how ordering a computer case Monday evening with 3 days select = arriving on a Tuesday a week later? Tracking shows the shipment was "stuck" at LOUISVILLE, KY for a few days. it was scanned as outgoing, then 10-15 minutes later scanned as arrived and sat there for a day. Scanned outgoing again the next day, scanned as arrived again 15 minutes later, etc. Either the UPS truck kept breaking down and they held back non priority packages, or someone kept forgetting to actually put the package on the outgoing truck and the truck left without my package.
WTB: option to ship via FedEx. I've had better luck with them than with UPS.

Newegg. My experience over the years, four RMAs - outstanding service.
UPS. My experience over the years - only ship UPS if no other service is available. My rankings and reasons:
US Postal Service Priority (Flat Rate) - good service, price that simply owns the other guys
US Postal Service Priority - good service, competitive pricing
FEDEX - great service, stiff prices
DKL - good service, stiff prices
USPS standard shipping - ho hum service, sort-of-good prices
UPS - cross your fingers service, stiff prices (except for large items, then prices are favorable)
Overall...I'd have to say Newegg is one of the best outfits existing today. They are very willing to listen to customers and do the best they can to assure satisfaction in my experiences....most recently I had a highend motherboard that died due to condensation after using ln2 (100% my fault)...I was completely honest, when I wrote to Newegg, in describing exactly what had occured and I admitted total fault for killing the board, guess what....Newegg issued me an RMA number for a replacement board.

I agree, here's my latest Newegg RMA experience. I purchased an ASUS P5E motherboard, forsaking the slightly more expensive Maximus Formula since I figured I wouldn't need the extra features. Well, it turned out that NB/SB temperature and voltage sensors were some of those features, and those I would like to have. Unfortunately, the P5E I bought had the non-refundable 30 day return policy so I thought I was sunk. I figured I'd give it a shot and ask them if they'd make an exception.
The woman I spoke with on the phone was more than willing to make an exception for me, was extremely friendly, and helped me in less than a couple of minutes. I was thrilled. I got all the money I spent on the P5E back (minus shipping of course) and was able to get a Maximus Formula instead. Newegg rocks.

I need help with recovering a missing CPU that was inside the box. I had other RMA with new egg and it went smoothly. But, I am out $250 because New Egg lost my cpu. So, I need advice on whom to talk too on finding out where is my cpu. Because, its missing.

In all my years of dealing with newegg, I've never had anything go south with them. I can, however, say that USPS & UPS has lost my packages in the past , but nothing to newegg, nor anything lost from newegg to me.
Newegg is top notch when it comes to RMA. I rarely do business with any other online e-tailor.
Blaming newegg and it's staff of robbery is ludicrous and obsured. If they really wanted to steal anything, they can steal brand new stuff. Why bother with used/dead parts being returned for RMA/replacement? You're way off base my friend.
I'll bet somehow you thought you taped the box firmly and in transit the flap managed to wiggle loose and opened. I read your post and there is no mention of the chip being returned was retail or OEM. I would think it was OEM and was placed in one of those tiny clear plastic trays. If this is the case, then when the box opened up there was enough room for the chip to slide out and get lost. Of course no one will notice this during the shipping transit as the item is small and no one pays attention to this.
If newegg can do anything, they will, and you can count on that. Hopefully this will work out. Good luck.

I agree that Newegg employees are almost certainly not guilty of stealing his CPU, the point about stealing brand new stuff doesn't hold water. Newegg would notice shrinking new inventory. They are not going to know if the guy who opened a RMA package pocketted something though. If I was a smart thief (if there's there any such thing) in that type of situation, I'd go for the returning goods over brand new stuff any day.

I don't take people very seriously who:
1) Use too many of '!',
2) Don't hold <SHIFT> while typing them all, and
3) SHOUT in their titles.

Yup.
You can actually get to someone who speaks English on the phone at Newegg. That's a relatively big deal these days.
(3 RMAs in four years, all perfect.)

Agreed. I was just saying that if they really wanted to they don't need to steal stuff that's being returned for RMA/replacement and taking the chance if it's still functional. Yeah i can see it now:
" Oooo, what's this that fell out the box...hmmm..one of the new quad cores cpu.. dam imma pocket this....." gets home, installs the chip and finds out it's dead. Next day goes back to work only to find the supervisor waiting for him. " You've been terminated for stealing. Go home" Then he'll say to himself " Dam, i got caught stealing and the dam chip was dead. I'm a dumbass :bang head.
Picture that one, lol.

In the box where the items were included had plastics bags for insalation. The CPU was wrap in a bubble wrap. The CPU could of easily misplace or throw away thinking it was insalation. So, that my concern, that New Egg made a honest mistake and the "Customer" me is out a CPU.

No. I have had more than 15 RMA's with newegg and not a single one has been less than perfect.
Dad's RMA status with newegg 5/5
Friends, 1/1.
I think something went wrong somewhere else along the line, if it's even true. A company of this size doesn't just throw away items when they get them, and if it was wrapped in bubble wrap the dude/girl would have had to remove the bubble wrap, pocket the CPU, all among other people around them. I HIGHLY doubt this situation when we have never heard of such a thing before. Sounds to me more like a customer trying to get what he can through a scam.

vixro,
first things first, I am going to be very blunt with you. I am not a con artist. Ok. Let me get that straight with you. I am not trying to scam no one. I am a college student that works very hard to keep good grades and I also work for a mutli billion dollar company that deals with lots of money.
Second, thing, maybe someone didnt pocket the item, but I wouldnt be suprises if the person, by accident could of thrown away the bubble wrap because it could of goten stuck in the plastics bags I use for insallation
