View Full Version : Question about returning bad RAM..
If you bought a matched pair of 2x1GB G Skill RAM, and one stick went bad.. would you RMA the pair, or just the bad stick? Basically I'm worried the replacement stick won't clock as well as the originals..
RAM in question is G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ.

You would RMA the pair since you bought them as a pair.

PM the gskill rep, or post there. Or email to ustech@gskill.com
And read this, I recommend stating your concern about performance if the sticks are not matched, and maybe they will make special conditions for you. Their initial answer is just send one stick:

I already talked to him over on XS, he said I could send the bad stick or both sticks. I'm just wondering what most people would do.
These sticks were doing DDR-1000 easy on stock volts so I'm concerned the newer ones might be using different chips and/or just not clock as well. On the flip side, if I RMA both sticks I can't use my PC until I get the replacements.
ask the gskill rep if they have switched ics on your hzs,if so to what.if they havent your golden.if they have ask what kind of max stable your looking at with stock volts.
