Does Nintendo not realize how much of their fan-base is 18-30 year olds? ya know, the people who grew up with the NES and SNES...
while this wasn't actually said by the heads of Nintendo in japan, it was still said by the MARKETING DIRECTOR in Europe.
But with games like My life as a king, and such for download for Wii-ware, and all the old console games to download, that 512 megs of space fills up pretty quickly.
then again...its nintendo. They are probably making more money by having their name branded on all those SD cards you can find at any store. people are dumb, and will shell out 100 bucks on SD cards, one at a time, instead of shelling out 60 bucks on a HDD at once. That, and with each person getting their own SD card ( or two ), they probably sell pretty well. I bet Nintendo has a pretty good deal going on with SD right now, to put the nintendo wii logo on those cards.

I don't know, those VC games are kind of small and an 8GB SD can be had for under $30.....

The most annoying thing is you cant play games off the SD, you have to have them on its diddy internal storage.

yeah, WE know you can get an 8 gig for much cheaper, but try walking into walmart, or gamstop and asking for an 8 gig SD card for anything less than 80 bucks. They will do nothing but laugh.
and yeah, the VC games are pretty small. But what about once nintendo starts REALLY pumping out those Wii-ware titles? Final Fantasy: My life as a king sure as hell isn't as small as a VC title.
though, Nintendo could kill this entire problem if they would just let you play you downloaded games directly off the SD cards. They wouldn't have to spend the money for a Wii-HDD, and the customers would be happy. Pop in a 4 gig stick, and leave it in the system, and you are permanently good to go. Would take nothing more than a small update on Nintendo's part. As DomoRawks just said, that's the most annoying part.

Actually I only write $10 posts... and the only relevance my fans need is the fact that I wrote something. ;)
In this case, however, I have nothing to add. Other than cranking out cheap products for huge profits Nintendo has no idea what the hell they're doing this console generation... just like LAST console generation. I've already covered that ad nauseum. So we're in agreement...
...except for the dumb thread title (if I recall correctly Sony supports every removable media known to man and also lets you install whatever notebook hard drive you want).

Heh, the title of the thread was more to the effect of sony making cheap insinuations about their customer base, and saying REALLY dumb stuff right before, and right as the PS3 hit the shelves.

Sounds more like a Crytek. ;)

He pretty much called us out, they're making bank on kids & parents so why try and appease the hardcore market? Nintendo are jerks a lot of the time (especially in Mario Kart) but for some reason I love them. Anyway, I can't help myself from buying their consoles and neither can anyone else, it's more like they're pulling a Steve Jobs.
