I bought a firewire expresscard for my dell xps 1530 and it is on the same IRQ as the video card. The card shows up in the device manager until I connect something to it, and then it disappears. I think it might be an IRQ conflict, so how do I change the IRQ on a laptop? Or does anyone else know what the problem could be?

Everything should be automatic, have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

i can't seem to find any drivers for it. it says to go to a website, but the drivers aren't there. i realized that the card doesn't work right after i wake my computer from sleep. if i restart, it'll work fine until i put my laptop to sleep. i think its a vista problem. i can't figure out how to solve it though. any ideas?

What happens if you pull the card out before it goes to sleep and reinsert it after it is running again?

i can't find a contact number anywhere on the package. the brand is best connectivity. i'll take the card out before i put it to sleep and let you know what happens.

EDIT: when i put the card back in after waking it from sleep it showed up, but the device connected to it (firewire audio interface) didn't work. i'm going to try hibernate mode and see what happens.

forgot to mention, it gives me BSODs when i remove the card sometimes. there only on the screen for a second though, so i can't read them.

i figured it is was driver problem, but idk how to fix it. it says no drivers are needed. i think the bsod is an "irq not lesser than equal" or something like that.
