I've just put in my new motherboard, an asus maximus rampage formula, and then accepted I'm once again a noob and gone back to read lots of articles about trd, straps, and how it all works.

The result of all this is that I've been testing these sticks all afternoon and these are the numbers I'm seeing. I don't know if this is particularly good/bad for a 2GB set of sticks and I did do a search for some sort of everest memory comparison table but found nothing useful. The one built in to everest was rather useless.

Anyway, here's the screenshot. Feedback please.

Whats the memory running at? For some reason, there are a lot of blank fields in your screenshot. It doesn't even have the motherboard model  Do you have your chipset drivers installed, and are you using the latest version of Everest?

The memory is running at 1080MHz with timings 5-5-5-18. I've got my suspicions about the blank fields. They were all correct and everything was fine before I flashed my Maximus to a Rampage. Now everest is missing a number of values. I have installed all the chipset drivers (as far as I know!) but I've been told that after a flash it's best to do a fresh install of the O/S but I really can't do that right now.

Ah, yea that would explain it. A soon as you reinstall the OS, they should be filled in.

What about the numbers? Any good? Better/worse/equal to other brands running at similar speeds?

The write speed seems low.

The best DDR2 everest benches I've seen were 10000-11000 read/write.

Try a slightly slower ram speed (~1000 is pretty high for a cas 4) with 4-4-4-12 timings, might need to pump up the voltage a bit though.

Try updating your Everest. Your still running 4.20
4.5 was the last release.

Updated to the latest everest and all the info is now there.

My next question is why is the write speed so much lower? What are the determining factors of each and how can they be tweaked to improve performance?

I think this is a good kit, and at these speeds I would expect higher results, or am I once again being too ambitious?
