I found this deal @ [H]......credit goes to them.
A decent deal for a capable chip
I read that the 5000+ 2.6ghz Brisbane (2x512) BE (Black Edition) may have better potential, less power/heat for what it's worth. It's $67 after promo code with free shipping:

i'll take cache size over heat any day
Kay, noobal question,...how does this chip stack up to a Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 Wolfdale 2.53GHz 3MB L2?
Been a while since I have upgraded, see sig...

The E7200 will runs circles around both of the AMD chips with a bit of OC to 4Ghz which should take no more than 1.35 v
Even my e4300 @ 2.7GHz beat the 6000+ I had @ 3.2GHz

SA-weet~! My brutha! I'm likin' the performance spread. *End of thread jack*

ya intel will smoke in ALMOST any thing but memory test. Then AMD stops Intel.
This is a smoking deal but i think the promo code has ended. still a great chip and will eat the 65nm AMD stuff clock for clock with the cashe.
The Intels are going to be faster... but it's hard to beat that price. That's a hell of a deal.
I'm not sure what the ratio is really in terms of chip speed relative to clock cycle (i.e. is an intel 15% faster at a given clock speed? That's about what I'd guess. The Intels also clock higher.)
For many things, dual cores are faster than quads still, because a lot of software can't use the quad, but it can use the dual, and the dual will be clocked higher.

Is this deal dead? I get an invalid promo code and I copied it directly from this thread (yes, before anyone asks...I am a newsletter subscriber).
Doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment, and it was working before.
Should I put dead in the title? LMK
