Ok guys, if I go with the celeron 1.0 1.1 1.2+ which is the best bet for a fan? Does the one that comes from intel suck?
Thanks!

1st we need to know what kind of motherboard you have...
As if your board is a slot one, then alot of sinks will not fit.

well I am "building" a computer to hold me over for a few months till northy is affordable, and we need a 3rd computer in the house NOW! (1 teen, and 1 12 year old, plus me, lol.) So I will be going celeron, and using a st6 board.
A good fan for the ST6...
Millennium Glaciator
Volcano 6cu+
Water cooling
Millennium Glaciator will provide you with the best performance and probably bring your temps to mid 30's stock speed.
Volcano 6cu+ might be 38 degrees stock speed.
Water Cooling will bring it to lower 30's stock speed and close to mid 30's overclocked.
If you get heatsink lap them and use Arctic Silver and your bound to see much of a difference.
If you plan to overclock with the vidpin and go to 1.6 or something go with the Glaciator II as it is the heatsink that will do the job and cool it with vcores as high as 1.825v
The Volcano 6cu+ should be only used to overclock without vid pinning I guess although it does well.
Water cooling..
Most efficent go crazy with it.

The Intel stock cooler that comes with CPUs 900mhz and above is actually pretty good and very quiet too. Celerons run fairly cool but you may want to use thermal grease instead of the stuff Intel puts on the HS instead, especially if you expect you'll be upping the voltage alot. So if you buy the boxed CPU, I think you'll do fine with the Intel cooler.

Thanks guys!
When you oveclock heat comes to mind.
And for the new Tualatin they should be cooled very good when running vcores of 1.825 when their default are like 1.4..
The Retail Intel fan doesn't do a good job.
Pinky runs a tualatin using an Alpha cooler I believe and he gets reboots at 42 Celius so I wouldn't recommend the Retail Fan whatsoever.

Well, when I got my 1Ghz processor, I got it with the IHS and this stupid rubberized thingy on the bottom of the sink. Don't bother with that, use ASII. Then, you'll be fine. The crappy fan/HS only comes into effect with 1Ghz and lower procs.
