Hi,
well I just bought another gb of ram. Since I had increased the voltage in my bios for my old ram i thought id take it right down in case, so as not to fry the new stuff. so its now at 2.5v

I then tested the new ram on its own and it booted just fine. Switched the computer off and put both sets of ram into the computer and now nada.

The power comes on(i.e. all the fans turn on) but I dont get anything on the screen (no matter how long I leave it.

So I then went back and tried both sets on their own and now neither work on their own as well :/

basically I am unsure if its the memory thats bust, the motherboard or just some setting somewhere.

any help at all is greatly appreciated :)

Have you reset the BIOS? Swapping components will often cause the exact symptom you describe, without any damage incurred.

If not already performed, move the CMOS jumper to reset (with no power to the power supply).

did that once, just done it again now.
all power off changed jumper position, switched the computer on then off and put the jumper back to the origonal position. (hope thats what your supposed to do)

still no fix :(

Try using only 1 stick after reseting the bios again.

all power off Does that mean you disconnected the power supply from the wall outlet? If, no, then do that too.

And you removed the bios battery before moving the jumper to clear?

you have to take out the power cord AND take out the battery. IF you don't know how to short it, then just take the battery out and leave it on the table for 10 minutes. then put it back in, and you should be reset.
