been trying hard for months now to get this chip back running at 900 which it done with stock cooling etc on the original MSI MS-6178 board ......this board i cooked along with 320 mb of pc133 anyhows i been trying to do the 900 on this cheapo board but couldnt get it to boot at all past 747mhz (83x9) then i mind someone here saying a fan on nirth bridge may help a 40mm fan to be precise so i put a 60mm fan rated for a pii @400 screwed 1 corner down o the greenie(which is a goldie in this case!) an lo an behold it knocks about 8 degrees of the system temp and wont pass 33 at full load (8 hours of soldier of fortune)
so guys if in doubt get a fan on the north bridge....................One thing i learnt though is how much a difference say 2c can make and i knew cooling was #1
but underestimated just how much #1 it is
