3dmark2k wont run anymore

after i oc-d my card using rivatuner, 3dmark2k doesnt run anymore... it actually takes along time to load... why's that? i didnt even oc it very high. i oc'd it using the low-level oc option... is there something wrong with my card?

How high did you oc it?

not much... maybe like 15 mhz on mem freq. thats it. but it still runs 3d games well.

Did you try reinstalling 3dmark? Maybe a defrag?

thats what im thinking... im using norton's speed disk to my defrag my drive and it always reports lost clusters... maybe ill try to fix it and defrag my drive and maybe a reinstallation of 3dmark2k...

by the way, wuts the difference between low level and normal overclocking? i used to oc my card with coolbits, lately i got hold of rivatuner and used it low level oc... do u think it might have messed up the card or something?

Lowlevel is done at the video bios rather than drivers as with coolbits... I don't think it would have messed it up... did you restart for detecting and disable coolbits first?

nope. i didnt. i just did it as it is. coolbits is enabled. and i also detected it. why?

I had coolbits enabled when I first used rivatuner and I couldn't get into windows... I kept forgetting to hold ctrl while booting(disables coolbits oc) Then reset coolbits to default hit apply... disabled it and put Rivatuner to my known defaults... applied and redetected... now it works fine.

i tried a defrag on my drive and i re-installed 3dmark2k1... it still doesnt run. am out of ideas here. please help!

Had the same problem with both 3dmark2001 AND 3dmark2000. It says a file is corrupted and cant continue with the benchmark. I re installed it and after running a few succesful benchmarks i get the same error again.
I oc'd both my vid card and processor and cant pinpoint which one is the culprit.

Fresh install of os? Also what are your settings in 2k1... I just noticed that if I choose triple buffer AND 4xAA... no go... but double buffer and 4xAA works... I got 3900+ at 1280x1024 32 DB 4xAA blah blah blah...:D

And hey... I'll even race you... I'm about to do a clean install of my os too... I did a couple of booboos so I need to start over:D

haha! i bet u will finish fast before me. ill do a fresh install of my os once i bought my epox8kha+ and my tbird1.2. so 3dmark is a no go for me... atleast for now. i still can play rtcw and battle realms so cares about those stupid benchmarks scores anyway? :p
