I was wondering around my local town today and popped by the local cheap games/DVDs/mobiles store you know the ones that sell loads of used stuff anyways.

I was looking at there PC hardware section and found they where selling a XFX 7900GS 256mb PCI-E card for £40 it looks in good nic. Still has it's stock fan on which I would change a bit dusty is the tight areas of it but if I remember didnt the 7xxx series suddenly get dropped or have I gone to something I making up.

I know there was something with the series 7 cards that made some news was it short of stock maybe thats it.

Anyways is it worth the upgrade I am on a really tight budget I don't really game but I will be getting some classics like C&C Tiberium Wars.

well, saying that the cheapest video card u can usually find at a store is $50-60+ for like a 5200/6200/7200... a 7900gs is going to be a nice buy . it makes almost anything out there at least playable.

I used to have 7900gs and it played Everquest and WOW quite well at mid range setting at 1024x768. It's a decent card for most games but if you're planning to play Crysis, it will wave the white flag before you can even start :D
