hiya all,

doing an upgrade to vista64bit and wanting to overclock the cpu when i do a ram upgrade. currently running 2 1 gig sticks of:

Module Name Corsair Value Select VS1GB667D2
Memory Type DDR2 SDRAM
Memory Speed DDR2-667 (333 MHz)

motherboard is a gigabyte ga-965p-ds3.
processor is intel core 2 cpu 6600 @ 2.4ghz

found out you can overclock to 3.6GHz on Intel Core 2 dual/quad when running 1:1 FSB:DRAM ratio (in sync) and you won't be putting any extra stress on your RAM because it doesn't need to go above 800MHz until you pass 3.6GHz. this is correct yeh?

So from that perspective, 800MHz RAM is all you need as it won't hold your overclock back?

If thats the case which 800mhz would be most ideal for the overclock?

I may need some direct assistance after I pick up the ram on what to do. Can somoene private message me or email me if they are willing to help on this? Cheers
