Hey guys, First time post here,

I have been building PC's for a few years now. My most recent build I just finished putting together and configuring last night. I spent a little more money on this build then what I typically do and want to try to get the most out of this machine. Here are my components -

*Not included is 2X2GB of the same model of RAM listed above, but it got backordered, so I will have a total of 6GB in a few days when it comes.
*My OS is Windows XP Pro x64

I've done some minor overclocking in the past, but I would like to push these ones much more to their limits. My problem so far is the memory. I can't even get it to operate at it's listed frequency or timings. By default the BIOS sets it to 533 mhz at 4-4-4-12. It is listed as being able to run at 800mhz 4-5-4-11. This is printed on the modules and also lists a voltage of 2.1v. If I even try to set it to 800mhz and leave the timings on auto I can't even POST. I have tried setting the voltage to 2.1, set the timings as recomended at 4-5-4-11, and the frequency to 800mhz, then the same thing happend and it wont post. I have to clear the CMOS every time and start back over. I don't know really why it is doing this but what is really strange is that if I OC the FSB on my CPU, and leave the RAM alone at 533mhz (what the mobo defaults it at), then when I run CPU-Z it posts the RAM as operating 1:1 with the CPU. For example, if I set the FSB to 300mhz up from 266 on the CPU I can boot into windows fine. When I run CPU-Z, it shows my memory as a 1:1 ratio operating at 300mhz (600mhz ddr2). However, if I restart and go into the setup, the BIOS is still showing 533mhz for the memory.

I guess I could just be missing something here, or its that I do not have much experience with memory timings/frequency. I understand that I did not get performance/gaming memory, but nearly every review on it at least has it operating at its specs (800mhz and at least 4-4-4-12). Would this 1:1 ratio cpu-z is posting have anything to do with it? I mean if I try just simply setting the memory to DDR2-800 settings even with very loose timings 5-5-5-15, then I can't POST.

I also would like to know what safe voltages and temps would be for my E7200. I can get a stable OC at the moment at 3.1ghz with the idle temp at ~31C and load temp ~38C. This is also on stock voltage.

My main concern is the RAM. I think I am just missing something in the BIOS or the timings that I am not experienced with. Also, sorry if it got confusing above in my explanation, I'll try to get some screenshots of it on here later this evening if it would help.

Thank you for any help or input you might have

wish i could help but asrock does some screwy things with their bios options.with a nv chipset i would normally suggest running linked and synched but ive no idea if thats possible with your mb.if possible could you post a pic of your bios where your seeing your memory options?

Thanks for the reply, but I figured it out last night. Had to set the voltage up to 2.2v for the memory to get it running where it was supose to. Manufacture listed it at 2.1v 4-5-4-11. Wierd though if I tried clocking it ANY higher then 533mhz at 2.1v, it would not even post. Soon as a put it at 2.2v it worked fine.
