View Full Version : Can I possibly OC with this system?
Can I, at all, overclock my Cpu only with this system:
ECS k7s5a Mobo
Athlon XP 1700+ 266mhz FSB (haven't decide on fan yet, any suggestions?)
256MB Pc 1600 DDR Ram
G3 64mb DDR
Onboard Sound
30 gig 5200RPM HD
50x CD Rom
250W Power Supply
Is there hope? Reply ASAP!

I would refer you here, where I listed some information that you might find helpful with regard to using the ocworkbench bios. The only difference is that your XP is not unlocked, but with the K7S5A, that does not matter. Also, that power supply is a little small.

how come you only have pc1600 ram? that will slow down ur xp 1600 from 1.4 Ghz to about 1.2Ghz if u are running your ram at 100 Mhz (correct me if im wrong) so basicaly you would be overclocking to reach the default cpu speed
