ADSL lag?

I have come across this problem lately.. my adsl is lagging really bad.. well this is what happens
when i click to do something on the internet.. my modem moves(the comp in the connection in the lower right hand side) but then what happens is that the opposite comp doesn't blink.. why is that?

Are you fussing over blinking lights? Or is there actual lag? And your post was a little hard to follow.

it may have to do with what website/server you are on. places that get lots of traffic are usually pretty slow.
