View Full Version : Working on my first 5003 Projects.
Couldn't figure out my weird totals and lower PPD.
Its the 5003. 479 points and lowers PPD by 1000plus. Its taking me about 3 hours per WU.
If anybody is crunching these as well as they crunch00,01and 02's let us know what GPU your using.
Everybody having a hard time?
Didn't take Stanford long to rain on my parade.:D

My 9600GT ppd has dropped by 150ppd on a 5003. Not that big of a drop. Weird.
BTW, with these larger WUs that means the GPU will be crunching for longer times w/ less breaks, increasing the wear on the card itself :-/. Hope GPU2 doesn't turn out to be a card-killer.

My last 5003 WU was ~77seconds a frame, which gave me about 5377 PPD. That is almost exactly the same with what I was getting with the earlier WU's, give or take a 150 PPDs.
GPU - 740c / 1900s / 950m GPU-Z
at 3 hrs per wu thats 3832ppd which is still better then a q6600 :D

IMO these "bigger" units are better, with 1 frame = 14 sec on a 9800GTX it was sending/receiving work every 25 min (+/-)
hard to WoW on the same connection as the Farm with those times :(

By far.
But since you folks are doing well with it. I may be able to improve with a priority change.EDIT( Yes slightly higher in config is bringing me up.More time is needed to be sure)
9xxx series looks like it's better for these(5003's)

isn't that the truth :D
Like every half hour or I was like I know it's not done with another :bang head
I'm getting 4756 PPD on the 5003s on a 8800 GT 256 MB at 679/1724/955.

I'm 'bout the same here. same card as torin, 650/1780/900.

Speaking of having the same card, do these ones not have temperature sensors? When I check in RivaTuner, it lists the temp as 0°.
I should probably bump my shaders just a bit more.
I have gone up 450 ppd since changing the core priority, definatly needs more CPU to make it hum.

I wonder how much CPU power the 280GTX is going to require to run at full capacity. They'll probably have to devote their entire CPU to the GPU2 client, and that may even not be enough.

Try evga's precision and see if that works.

Maybe not the Gt is only using 20% of 1 core.

no, our card does not have a temp sensor in it! even asus's smart doctor stated that. and that's why riva tuner couldn't show the temp.... I've read the 512mb version does have temp and fan sensor, and you can adjust the fan speed too.

Oh well, I guess that might be why it was so cheap ;). Time to pull out the IR temp gun.
