What does it spin at (rpm) ? The stock Intel fans use Sanyo-Denki, but they spin kinda slow. Just curious as to a comparison.

In my experience, all-metal fans tend to be much quieter and move just as much air as thermoplastic. I've seen some fairly high quality plastic panaflo's etc... but nothing can keep me from my aluminum papst 120's :) Maybe it has something to do with the motor shaft being more stable due to the heavy blades? Any ideas?

all the large fans in my case are 25mm ys-tech 105CFM - sort of loud but the only thin ones i could get that do that. i do however have one 120mm think fan, it dosn't have a lable on but it is great, i recon it blows 140CFM and is quite, i ripped it out of a mac server (very old)

Why do you run a lot of 25mms? A few big fans would work better, although seeing a lot of 25s would be kind of neat.
I got three of them installed in a server tower case, heh heh.
That picture is of the thick 75 mm one right? I figure three of them is too much for even the server case so I got one 75 mm blowing in above the power supply, one 75 mm blowing in from the front of the case, and I just use a 25 mm one blowing over the CPU and memory (cut a hole in the side of the case).
Boy, those 75 mm fans sure move a lot of air!
I picked up these 75 mm Sankyo Denkis for $7.00 U.S. in Japan. They normally sell for $45. Reason: they had the wrong connectors; all I had to do was cross two wires from the fan to get the connector on them to work.
I think I picked up 9-10 of them, I forget (not for sale). I need 'em all since I'm building 3 rigs, all using 10-bay server cases.

He means 25mm thickness. Common thicknesses for 120mm fans are 25mm and 38mm (there are others).

Oops. I get it now. 38mm sounds better unless you need a thin form factor fan for a tight space.
Ooops, I mean't I have the 38 mm thick 120 mm fans, not 75 mm. In any case, they're the thickest 120 mm fans made.
