just got a new mcp350.. first thing i did was top mod, and solder trick to mcp355... I didnt even try the pump first so i figured i could mod it first then throw it in..

Ok so i fill in water to the pump in my system, ok there is alot of air so i figure i can run the pc to have it pump incoming water into the loop.. Ok so far that was good, what seemed to be like it it bleed out... then it seemd the pump wasnt pumping anymore. Turned system off and the pump was warm.

I dont know maybe there wasnt enough water circulating. So i drained everything, took the pump apart, and put it back together.. proceded to fill water again, then power on PC to get the pump going,... nothing.

A quick google search revealed i guess these pumps need to be broken in? or did i just screw myself out of a new pump? I removed the solder mod to bring it back to normal... but i had modded the top so no way to rma it *well i modded it..

any help thanks

i cant imagine the pump being soo sensitive?? i know it needed to be primed.. so i ran with my best guess to keep it wet. I dont know whats up..

I had a problem with a pump wire that wasn't making a connection. But once i wiggled the wires, it worked. Maybe you accidentally moved something around?

When you say you didn't have enough water, how do you not have enough water? Running a pump on empty is no good. When I fill my system up first, I do a test with just the WC setup and fill up the reservoir as needed with my coolant. That way the pump never goes empty.

well i dont think i ran it empty.. i fed as much water as i could thru my tline, which then i decided to turn it on to pump that up while i feed it more water.

I had the same pump a few day ago. At first I thought it's not working as it is. so I shake it and it like giving a push start. It's working fantastic now.
