Well... I have finally been able to get a break and be able to tear down my system and start rma's... I have been having problems with my board since day 1 but I wasn't able to take it down because it worked well enough for me to get my programming schoolwork done, I explained why I wasn't able to RMA it sooner. They are being very helpful and giving me a full refund on the product since it is not in stock any more! WAY TO GO NEWEGG!!!

That rocks...but does it seem to anyone else that bad mobo's and gpu's are getting more common?

I myself have never had a bad board but I have a friend trying to build a new system with two DOA's in a row......

Seems QA is not what it used to be...I wonder how many boards they REALLY test before shipping...

as in 24 hr burn in with the board LOADED up, Ram full.........2 opticals 2 hd's usb's all ports with a plug in em......

You would have very few actual DOA's I think....(theres always a numb skull out there).....

I bet they test 1 of out 100 anymore...if that

QA has gone down BUT it's also critical components, such as memory controllers, southbridges, etc. not just the manufacturers of the motherboards.

For example, the 5xx and 6xx series of NForce chipsets. They are VERY picky and flacky with memory. People who buy them to things other than overclocking still experience the same kind of trouble an overclocker is more expected to experience.

Things have gotten better. AMD chipsets and the newer Intel chipsets are more reliable and stable. NVidia is also getting back up there and now it is just the minor components, such as capacitors, etc. that separates good manfucaturers from the bad ones.

I seriously doubt they would take the time to do a very thorough test for each board..maybe once every once in a while to make sure of a huge screwup...but im guessing a machine tests all the connections and thats it.
