Is it possible to enable gamepads in RTCW?

Is there a way? I heard there was a way to enable gamepad to allow u to move and strafe? I still use mouse to aim and shoot.
I read a previous post stating there is a way..

Anyone know how to enable this?

Well many ppl have been wondering about this... So far it seems like its not possible to use a joystick or gamepad with this game. :burn:

i had (have?) an old joystick that wasn't really a joystick that works with basically any game you can change keys with.

your keyboard would plug into it, and it plugged into your keyboard. each button on the joystick actually was a letter (or symbol/number). same with the joystick, when you pushed up on it, it would actually be doing some key on your keyboard.

so with this (or one like it) any game that you could assign keys would work with it.
