I have been working on this system, card for some time and would like opinions as to its performance in relation to the GF2 ti200. Is it time to upgrade or should I hold out a while longer?

Leadtek GF2 32 ddr- 3dMark2001

1028X768 (16) - 5731
1028X768 (32) - 4920

Can't seem to get to 5000 points (using settings that I would use all the time) with Detonator Drivers 23.11.

The FSB is as high as it will go on this sdram KT7A at 147.

Card is presently at 261/438.

Also, where might one get the newest nvidia drivers now that the 3dguru is down?

Can't answer your upgrade question, but I can tell you where to get drivers:p

I don't think it would be worth it to upgrade unless you get a GF3, or a Radeon 8500. To get a GF2 Ti, you'd just be spending a hundred bucks, and only getting a marginal performance boost.

i think you should hold out till the Geforce4s cme out and everything else becomes reasonable...

right now the cheapest brand name Ti500 Video Card you can get is the MSI Ti500 for 295$......when the Geforce4 comes out expect it to be more on par with what the 8500s cost right now about 240-250$....

Silver Sink, thanks for the links. As for waiting, I think I shall for now. I do believe that the 32 meg on the card is not helping me any. Went out to Mad Onion however they group the GTS, Pro and Ti so am not really sure were this card ranks however the top is at 6100 or so and I can not see another 1200 points coming out of this card. As is the card is running about 60% over stock. Maybe 5000 or so.

I think it's doing great for your card. That 6100 score is probably a high-end processor overclocked big time. I'd wait until GF4 if you are certain you're going to upgrade. They look amazing!

I noticed that at Mad Onion, most of the high ones are running a little slower than me on GPU speed but are out of my league on the ram (500+). There is no way my 32 meg is going anywhere near 500. The best I have been able to do is 440 and I thought that was pretty good for a cheap card. I did one time get a fairly high score using nvmax and setting (? I forget) high however the picture was horrible and though I got no atifacting and could have sent it to Mad Onion, why? I would never ever run the computer with graphics that are all really fuzzy. It is not a real world or usable result so away to the recyle heaven it went. With DDR I might get a little more on the fsb but I am beginning to think the 32 meg is coming close to the end.

Great Score! Yeah i would wait a bit - I got a GF2 Ti - and the performance is enough (for me) im planning an overclock soon with some nice sinks 'n fans on the way for my ram - It would be wise to wait a month or two - i think the GF4 is coming in feb or late jan - I forget.

Peace.
