prices have dropped. and these two models have dropped to the same price. i dunno which to get. any suggestions?
i will most likely run FSB at 400-450, and will not go higher than 500.
the Reaper X has better timings than average 800mhz kits, but the Platinum could be underclcok and could possibly achieve the same result maybe?
any suggestions? :)

ahh, melbournians! so i'm not alone =]
mostly MSY. asian ftw xD
but for parts not available there, i go to CPL, Scorptec or PC Case Gear.
if i wanna get the Reaper X, it's $165 at CPL and the Platinum is $149 at MSY.
so they're just a few bucks apart, i want the better performing one.

lol.
i was just wondering if anyone new if what timings the platinum 1066mhz could do at 800mhz, as i won't be running them at a much higher speed. the Reaper X as good timings for 4-4-3-15, but i doubt they could be lowered anymore.
does anyone know what ic's these kits are using?

You can use RAM dividers on your motherboard to make the RAM run a higher FSB than your CPU btw
The 1066MHz Reapers use Micron D9 GMH's [The ones that OC well + good timings]
oh really? i read they use Powerchip. or are the modules on the 2gb kit and 4gb kit different?
if they're Micron D9, i will def get them.

Hello mate. What freqency did you choose ? hyper X 800 or those 1000 MHZ? Thank you for the reply. Waiting for RMA of my Corsairs XMS2 , maybe they get those reapers instead of those.

D9s are not used on either. Powercips on the Reaper X (best choice).
D9s may still be on the Reaper 9600, but not 8500s.
Well i see you have gone with Reaper X! Good choice
