I am trying to setup 3 disks raid 0 with the following disks:

698 (750GB) seagate
698 (750GB) seagate
465 (500GB) seagate

but I can only get 1397 GB in total size. This seems to be equivalent to two 698GB drives so what the heck happened to my 465GB drive? My bios and raid setup shows all three disks and I am selecting all three disks.

Am I missing something here? Any idea?

When I use the areca raid card it recognizes all three disks 1500GB to be used at raiod 0 so I know this is not a hard drive problem.

:welcome: to the forums!

1397/3 = 465 ;)

When doing RAID0, you can only use as much per drive as the smallest drive.

Example, you have two 750gb disks and a 500gb disk. You can only use the space of the smallest drives. Meaning, you can only use 500gb of the 750gb. Take that times 3 and you get 1500gb, 1397GiB.

There is nothing wrong with the drives or the controller. That is how RAID works.
