Basic Information

Intel Core2Duo E6550 @3080MHz (440MHz x 7 and 1.385V BIOS)
Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3
OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Revision 2
Gainward 8600GT 1GB
6xSATA HDD
2xOptical Drives

Running at Thermaltake W0084 which is 430W rated. I've since been told this is possibly being stretched to its limits. And with the addition in a few days of OCZ Reaper DDR2-9200, I thought it might be time to update this POS PSU.

Australian Based, so slightly less options compared to elsewhere.

My main question is, would a Corsair 450VX PSU be enough?

It is $115.00AUD

If Not? The next step up is
Corsair 550VX - $149.00AUD

OCZ StealthXStream - $125.00AUD

Zalman ZM500-HP - $149.00

If the Corsair 450W isn't enough, which one would you get?

the 450 is enough, but the vx 550 is a outstanding unit and if its an option i always recomend it above others.

Another one that I would look at is the PC Power and Cooling 610w Silencer

It is the same price as that Corsair 450w and packs a lot more power and room for further upgrades

Grumpy,

That Corsair VX450 won't break a sweat with your rig, even with an 8800GT or GTX and the price is right for you. Easy choice IMO.
