Diplomacy

I wondor how many of you have heard of the game Diplomacy. (Used to be manufacured by Avlon Hill company but how manufactured by Hasbro) It is way better than Risk, and other games left to chance. Nothing is left to chance in this game. Takes for ever to finish a game(never finished one myself.) You play as powers of Europe or Asia (depending on what board you have) you have to negoate alliances and think up strategec orders. For more complete info check out

Intense risk games can last a LONG time as well.

At a friends house we started a game of risk at 3:00 in the afternoon and didnt get to sleep until about midnight!

Although your games pry last longer, those back and forth fights are crazy. The thing is, all i had was australia + the islands above it at one point in the game. I horded an army and just swarmed Russia. That gave me the game :). When one friend has The Americas, and the other russia, they battle over Europe while i horde.

I love that game.

When I say long I mean a couple of Days. Nothing is left to chance as in Risk or A&A, You wirte out orders for each piece and tell them what to do(support another unit from attack, attack another unit or contry, covoy over water a land unit.) you then hand in the orders to some to read. they read them and the moves take place, all at the same time. Say a two oposing armys or trying to move into a open contry. nothing happens because It was 1 on 1. now say one of the armys was suported by another army it would get it because it was 2 on 1. very complacted but very very fun, My friends and I try to have a Diplomacy party one a month. (We normaly play maybe a qurter of a game and then we are about done.) My friends and I are playing a game over email right now with one turn happening a week.
