hi
i'm going to get a new computer in nevember/december and i tought it would be nice if it was silent and i could OC it to get a bit more performance if needed. i'd prefer it to be completely fanless and as silent as possible.
here's the main specs of it:
GFX: ASUS GeForce 8800GTS PCIE 512MB or BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC2 WC 512MB PCIe
MEM: 2GT DDR3 1600MHz+ (PC-12800), Extreme Edition Dual-kit (1+1)
CPU: CORE 2 DUO E8400
MoBo: ASUS Striker II Extreme
PSU: Zalman 750W, Heatpipe cooled ATX-PSU
any suggestions for the cooling system? i tought of zalman reserator kits, but after reading some forums i thought it'd be better (and cheaper) if i build my own.
before i get that system, i have some old computers to build a test system and practice a little with water cooling and i thought i could even manufacture my own CPU blocks.
the info i need most by now is the mounting hole positions for the block for P4 if anyone has them at hand so i don't need to measure them. the old rigs are about 100kms away now and with these gas prices i wouln't like to drive around just to pick up some trash for measurements.
i'm working in a metal shop, so tools and materials are no problem, but some advice how to start making my own blocks would be very nice.
