SLI-identical cards? or mixed?

i am really curious about something. for example, is there any advantage to SLI with identical cards, like 2 EVGA 8800gt's, versus SLI with 1 EVGA 8800gt and 1 BFG 8800gt?

As long as it is the same core, it will work.

8800gt SLi? Yes
8800gt + gts? No

Brand and stock speeds do not matter.

yeah i knew that you can't mix different cores, but i didn't know if there was a performance increase associated with having identical cards.
