Been wondering which would see the best returns, going straight up into the GX2 or buying another 8800GTS and going SLI, or buying the GX2 and MAYBE going SLI at a later date.

Which would I see better frame rates with?

8800GTS SLI

9800 GX2

Fish.

If you have the board to do SLi, GTS SLi, no doubt. They are going to run cooler and IMO, run better/faster.

cheers Thideras, you always seem to come to the rescure.

Now i just gotta find the same model as the company i bought it from stopped selling it or something :bang head

Also, i'm running on a 780i, so SLI aint a problem :)

You can match any brand name card to do SLI as long as they are the same native architecture, so you can match EVGA 8800GTS with a MSI 8800GTS etc and they will work 100% in SLI

The 780i is a great board for SLI, I loved that board :)

:santa: well that makes it easier. i suppose i aint going to be seeing the cards anyway, as they're upside down.

Now I have to find a good one.

Found the same one on newegg for $250 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150267) problem is i don't know how they calculate exchange rate...

Good news is it's definitly going to be a lot cheaper than when i bought this first one.

So i may as well just go with this one right?
