Ok here is my problem. I am on the internet (Cable connection) and I am playing chess on yahoo games and listening to some music with real jukebox. All of the sudden everything stops, music, game, everything. I can't move my mouse nothin. It just freezes up. I wait a while, eject the CD Rom's (only one will eject) and then it suddenly stops. It seems to help if I hit the upper right corner of the case. Any ideas? I am running a CD-RW and a DVD-rom, you can take a look at the rest of my specks. My next move is to re-install 98se and see if that helps, if not reformat and re-install. Any other ideas?

Thanks

hmmm... well normally physically hitting the case isn't exactly the best idea, as there are many fragile parts in the computer. Some questions tho. Are you current OCing? If so by how much? Does it only freeze when listening to music or just randomly at anytime?

My father has an a7v and it stalled just like you say because of a bug in the bios. I flashed the bios and it's been smooth as silk ever since.

Good luck.

This is a new thing it has been doing. Like the last two weeks or so. I don't really hit it but smack the case on the top in font right corner and it seems to help. No I am not overclocking. Another thing that has been hapening lately is that every so often when I start it it does not recognize the CD-Roms. Like they aren't even there. They are both on EIDE port 1. so when it does this I turn it off and go in and make sure all the cables are secure and then fire it back up and it works fine, for a while. I think that maybe they are comming disconnected at times while the computer is on and it is screwing it up. I was playing on Yahoo last night while listening to music and once again it froze. These problems are completely new. Does anyone else have problems with IDE cables slipping on the A7V?

Thanks

Not unless I swing the mainboard around by them ! i.e. to say so long as there is no physical contact, which inside a case there shouldn't be, there is no problem.
