View Full Version : Dynamat
Hello,
I am very curious about dynamat computer kits for making a
computer quieter. I hear that they are a great choice.
Before I purchase a kit, how do you install it and how well
will it work. If you use dynamat and can post pictures of you
computers dynamat setup I would be greatly pleased.
Also what exactly is it, a thin piece of insulation or...
What are the different kits available and their cost; where
can I purchase it?
I had looked for that stuff and the best place (only place) I found is this. http://www.dynamat.com
Thanks alot,
I learned very much from their site!

www.crutchfield.com also carries it, it'll take two rolls to do most cases. works pretty good but it adds a lot of weight, so if you take your puter to LAN parties, it might not be a good solution for you.

I put dynamat in my case (original  ). The first couple weeks were horrible (the really bad small game me a sore throat). After the smell wore off though it was great... It was much quieter. If you do put it in your case I reccomend using a rubber roller and a hairdryer to get it to stick better. One downfall to dynamat is how heavy it is. My case now weighs about 50+ pounds (kinda hard to carry around to lan parties... but oh well).
let us know how it turns out

Also it seems to insulate my case. My case temps seemed to go up a little. (just a warning)

I understand that dynamat turns vibrations into low-grade
heat?

The computer will never be moved, so a heavy computer
is ok.

FrozenInHI, What do you mean 2 rolls,
are you talking about the 4sq. ft. rolls?

As for the smell, from there site the new dynamat does
not smell. I think its dynamat xtream or somthing on those
lines.
