just wanted to know what anyone who cares to read this would do if they had $300 +,- US(hopefully under) for new ddr mobo, proc, and a little ddr mem, and don't forget the hsf. i got a pretty good idea what i want now just curious what everyone else thinks.
mostly i want to overclock and run good games. i already have a radeon 8500 to use in it dvdrom and cd-rw. 10 gig w\d (will upgrade soon to larger ata 100 drive) well ventilated case....

Epox 8K7A or 8KHA+ or Shuttle AK31
Athlon 1500 or 1600 XP
Kingmax 2700 DDR 5ns
Glaciator II

That will fit all your needs, let you overclock and make it last.

thanx for the info. i'm sure of an xp 1600 some kingmax and a good psu. i was thinking sk6 for the hsf because i got a good idea (i think) for a liquid cooling mod with it but that's another story. just not sure now of mobo. i like what i see from both epox and shuttle but don't mind spending a little more for something that may be more reliable (if that's a possibility) i even been thinking about the ecs k7s5a and just going for the fsb clock. maybe hardwire the multi down and run at 150?

thanx for the input, i only wanna have to buy this stuff once every two years at most ya know?
