View Full Version : Pump gph what should i look for
What is the ideal GPH for a water cooled system.
I got a danger Dan maze block and RAD with 1/2 inch tubing..
what should I look for in a pump..
and I live in Canada so I need a site or sites that would sell them also
thanks
You should have gotten the Eheim 1048 when you ordered from Danger Den. I am running the Maze-2, Radiator and 1048. The three work very well together. Pet Warehouse sells them for about the same price as Danger Den.

The least you'll want is 250 GPH... but I was told not to go over 350 for risk of leaks from too much pressure... but I think that depends on your line, fitting, waterblock chamber sizes... just my $0.02:D

250 or so is ideal. I'm getting an Eheim 1250 pump, personally :). You don't want the water moving too quickly through the waterblocks, but you want it to move slowly through the radiator. You also don't want it to move too slowly through the blocks. I'll be splitting off lines... maybe more GPH would be good, but I think a 1250 should handle it :D. I probably will have a second loop for my HDD's, CD drives, and PSU, as well. I can't figure out how to fit those in, though, without a second loop (I'd prefer to use one loop for cost, but if I need a second, oh well :D)!

An Eheim 1048 or 1250 is good. If you go for the 1250, which is 316gph I think, you can reduce the waterflow to tweak the temps.
Started with an Eheim 1048 and have since gone to a 250 Danner and am presently running a 500 GPH Danner. I have no problems but use a bong and have the pump outside of the case. The Danners are known for leaking. My maze block is 1/2" as well.

Bongs require a much larger pump due to the larger head height. For a normal radiator system an Eheim 1048 or 1250 is ideal. I run an Eheim 1048 myself.
