New Mobo-have 2 more sticks of PC2-6400 Patriot.
When I originally tried to put them in dual channel, my computer came on to the windows bar, then rebooted over and over. Put in 1 stick and it booted normally-then began CHKDSC. Then, I put 2 sticks in different colored slots and It works fine, but is in single channel mode.
Could it be the fact that I mixed up the kits that is causing this, AND am I risking corrupting everything by experimenting to see if I can get 4GB of memory in? (Windows XP) (Did not have to reinstall)

if both kits are pc2 6400 patriot ( 4x1gb sticks in all?) mixing em shoudlnt make a difference. perhaps your board is just picky about having all 4 slots filled. to avoid the risk of corrupting windows, download memtest86 .iso , burn it to a cd , and use that to do your testing so windows isnt involved.. and note that although 4gb , will only show up as 3gb+ on 32bit xp.. check maybe if there are bios updates that help fix ram problems.

When I have enough time I may try memtest86 (burned it to disk)
I am going to just run the 2gb in single channel for now. 2gb is plenty for what I do. Thanks for your help.:soda:
