Hey guys,

Been watercooling for about 6 years now and recently put a E8500 under the block. Temps seem a bit high, but honestly I'm not familar enough with this CPU to know, so I'm hoping you can help me out.

CPU Specs
E8500 - 475x9.5 = 4,512 MHz @ 1.4v

Water Specs
Danger Den TDX waterblock
Black Ice XtremeII Radiator (2x push, 2x pull 120mm fans)
Laing DD12V-D5 pump
Loop: Pump -> WB -> Radiator

Temps
Ambient: ~23-25C
Idle: ~36-38C
Load: 60-62C (per core) - Prime95, Inplace Large FFTs after 30 mins

I've remounted the waterblock a few times. Thermal paste contact looks good.

Considering a different block such as the D-Tek Fusion v2...and possible a different rad....or are these temps in the ballpark?

In any event, the cpu is running fine and 24hr prime stable, the temps are just higher than I was expecting.

Thanks for the input

Nice chip.

You're using Realtemp, right?

It seems a little high, but you're within range.

Thanks, kinda lucked out with this one. The last two intel chips I've owned have been horrible steppings :bang head

yes, using real temp. Thanks for the info, I will not worry about it then

Your real temps are close to mine.

Real Temp (CPU): idle 22-43C
load 55-62C
(some overclock, no ac in the house, ambient can push 90+F.)

EVGA Precision (GPU): idle 33-37C (some overclock)
load 50-51C

Water: WP-RAD-CPU-GPU (240mm radiator)
