LOL :D

Let's start whiping the Compaq around..

Well that thing will most likely do WU's in 10-15 hours so it's good enough extra 10 WU's a week or so I wouldn't complain :D

my cele 500 did a normal WU in about 22 hours at stock speed...18 hours for a high AR :D

I think you need to do some tweaking. My Celeron does work units in 16-21 hours. It is the system in the sig.

I agree. Even though mine's a Celly II 600, it does a WU in about 12 1/2 hours. I wouldn't think a 500 would be that far behind unless you were using the screen saver on it.

...the compaq keeps haveing an error while processing the work unit... oh well lol i dont really care it would have ruined my average time per work unit anyway

Sir-Epix and Jon....20 hours or less for a non overclocked cele500 on an old FIC board with a wacky apollo440BX AGP set is actually pretty good. And thats with CLI. Ane cele 500 is Mendocino core so it would be much slower than cele 600 with coppermine.

P3 500 Katami@500 currently doing 11-13 hour WU's on the same board

My cele 566@850 did WU's average about 8 hours on Abit BP6

It must be the board then, because I have a P3 500 Katami@500 and I get 8-11 hour times.

Sir-Epix...the board isn't helping for sure and thats why I took it out of my main system several years ago but it makes a decent extra system. Benchmarks went up 20% just by putting all the same hardware in a BP6 --- of course that was over 2 years ago

My dually PIII 500 Katmai is right at about 11 1/2 too. Still wouldn't think it would take more than 18 hours to finish.

I used to have a PIII550E (coppermine) when I began crunching. My rig was compossed of the PIII550E on an Iwill II slocket, an Iwill BD100+ and 3 memory sticks: one generic 64 MB (this one has to be replaced as it maxed out at 110 MHz 3-3-3), one 128 MB Infenion stick and a 256 MB Siemens stick

At first it would process a WU in 9.5 hours, with memory settings 2-3-3..... The memory maxed up when running at 133 MHz 2-2-2 and it was doing 7-7.25 hours per WU.....

I tried incressing the FSB a little more and manage to run with the 128 MB stick at 140 MHz.....doing 7 hours per 0.417 AR WU.
