6800GS SLI upgrade

I want to upgrade my video but I'm loosing my watercooling setup and downsizing my pc to save on some power. Since I have watercooling on both 6800GS cards and the cost of newer cards is dropping so fast it is almost cheaper for me to upgrade my whole card then buy two new coolers. Plus I want to lose the SLI for one card. So what is a good upgrade? I was thinking a 8800GT because I would prefer to keep to under $200.00US but would it be much of an upgrade? I'm also looking for a quiet cooler so no crazy o/c will be needed right now. Any thoughts?

9600GT or new ATI gpus can be had for under $200 and can outperform SLI 6800 by a wide margin.

I had two 6800GS's in SLI and any nividia 8800 series or amd 3800 on up is a huge up grade.
