I want to replace my 74 gig Raptor hard drive with a larger WD2500KS drive and I am running Vista 64. Are there any free programs that will let me directly copy my Vista install to the new larger drive ? I would like to avoid having to reinstall Vista if I can. Thanks.

WD's Data Lifeguard (http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=606&sid=1&lang=en) tools is free and will do a disk copy.

Tried it...no joy:shrug: gives some EIDE CDROM driver error and drops to the A:/ prompt...nothing will run off the CD...

Resolved.

Acronis Easy Migrate worked like a champ....but Vista did need to be re-activated...no big deal.
