4850 .... or (2x) 3870?

looking into a new build ... if i can get either of these for the same price ... what should i go with? i mostly just paly css, dod.... lots of multiplayer games no real OMGWTFBBQ games like crysis but it'd be cool to be able to play them finally

if you can get them for the same price get the 2x 3870s sell each for 100 here or on craigs and then buy a 4850.

rofl ... i am thinking about buyin the 2 from teh classies at about 215 shipped ... which is basically a 4850 + tax

then get the 4850. They have been floating around 150-180 recently. However if you want it lower then 175 or so you are going to have to wait for a MIR to come through

My 4850 performs at least as well as the two 3870s I'm selling in classies, with AA and AF on. With AA and AF off, the 3870s seem to do better, but the 48x0 cards are vastly better at AA/AF.

Go with the 4850 because you can always get another 4850 later on.
