My friend doesn't want to get motherboard or processor upgrades, he only wants to get a better video card (Nvidia most likely) in order to run higher-end games like battlefield 2 and star wars galaxies. What brand/type and specs for a video card would run with a Dell dimension 2350 (with a 1.8-2.2 GHz pentium 4, http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Dell-Dimension-2350-MPN-235PSW has more specs). Also, can his crappy computer even run these games with his low clockspeed and terrible processor?

According to this:
http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/dell-dimension-2350/4505-3118_7-20717757.html

That machine has no AGP slot. This leaves you with PCI cards which are very poor options.

If he really wants to play Battlefield2 I would suggest a full upgrade encompassing mobo, cpu, ram, video card, and power supply. This would run around $300 total for an Athlon 64 X2 system and $350 for a Pentium Dual Core system.

If he really can't afford that kind of upgrade, something like this might get BF2 playable (but is a HORRIBLE investment):

Might as well get another case. The cooling potential of that case is really limited.

Buy everything except the monitor, keyboard, mouse and mousepad.

It's an old system and not able to play the new games, period.
