anyone know what the difference is?

their site has an ad for a coldplate if you want to convert a maze 2-1 into a maze 2-2:

"MAZE2-2 Cold Plate
Convert a MAZE2-1 into a MAZE2-2
Comes with 4 - 8-32 Bolts & 4- 8-32 Nuts
Reuse the MAZE2-1 Springs"

I take it from this that there must be a difference...

the maze 2-2 has a special seperate cold plate attachment allowing the full 200 - 250grames of pressure required for a peltier, the cpu on needs and can only take about 20grammes (something like that anyway)

the meze2-1 does not use a seperate attachment so the peltier only has 20grammes of pressure

Well, the 2-2 can use to tecs while the 2-1 can only use one. This is because of the bolts used in the 2-1...they go through the cold plate, which reduces the usable area for tecs.

They both have separate coldplates, though. :)
