Hey guys ive been folding off and on for awhile now (only 22 work units done lolz) but I plan on getting into it alot when i get my new rig setup I just have a few questions.
A) is it possible to fold under the same name with 2 machines? IE) old machine and new rig?
B) I think you can fold with the CPU and certain GPUs? ill be having a Q6600 + SLI or Crossfire..what works best for folding?
thats actually it haha any help is of course much appreciated!
best regards,
eddy

The 8800GT's seem to be the best bang for the buck when it comes to running the GPU2 client.:)
Yeah if your up in the air go with nvidia for folding. You would do 10kppd with 2 8800Gt's and your Q6600.
Glad you joined up with T32.:welcome:

Yup, that's the basic jist of it. You'll most likely have questions and problems with setting it up, we'll be here ;)

ok so i got another Rig folding right now...just an old DELL (it REALLY doesnt do anything else so it might as well be folding) im folding under the same name and Ive been assigned a work unit but it doesnt update my total IE i have zero work units done on that dell machine but 22 on my main rig.
Does that number just represent how many WU's ive finished on that machine or total? Maybe it just takes a few hours to update not too sure.
I have a dual core AMD laptop with 64bit windows that will be joining the team so ill be sticking around!!
Yes, the total is incremented when the WU is finished folding, and has been sent back. You have a total for each machine, but that number is reset if you fold a WU for somebody else, etc.
The real total for all your machines is the total on stats sites like EOC. Your stats page is:
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=333452
You'll definitely want to bookmark your stats page! :)

im using the GUI version...and it says it can only have one running at a time?
Yes, you can. If you have installed the 5.03 version of FAH, replace it with the 5.04 version. The 5.03 version doesn't "play" well with others. :D
Just a minor correction in terminology to a previous post. You should use the same User Name on all your rigs and of course team 32. Each machine will be assigned a unique User ID by the stanford Assignment Server. In the case of multiple instances run on the same machine, each instance must have a different Machine ID. You must enter advanced options in config to Change the machine ID
