A couple of years ago me and a friend drew up some blue prints for a home made water cooling set up, i never tried it or even built it, cause i never had a system i was willing to flood, but now i have one, and was wanting to know is water cooling just bragging rights or does it actualy do a better job than air.....if your water cooled could you please let me know what you've done and maybe a link to your website with your rig, or a link to a system that you found to be worth the money. I have looked at a lot of water cooling kits and all of them stat they are best on the market, but who realy is......???

water cooling is definatly worth it.

unlike heatsinks when a cpu design changes (slot to socket) or you swap makes of processor (intel to amd) the only thing that needs changing is the hold down device, water is by far better coolant then any gas and will allow you to reach a higher overclock.

think of the heatsink like a cheep micro hifi and the watercooling like an expensive seperates system. if you want to upgrade the heatsink, you probably have to do all of it and it wont be a big difference.

the watercooling allows you to upgrade parts of it for it to work better as parts advance - it will cost abit more but will definatly be worth it

oops i forgot

the best waterblock on the market is probably made by dangerden, the bet radiators are made by black ice although a car heater core also does a good job, the pump is important so get a ehiem

Go with water cooling if you have the time and patience to build it. It is more efficient and near silent depending on how you build it.

From what I read, Swiftech and Danger Den make the best blocks, Blackice Extreme or a heater core for the rad, and an Eheim 1048 or 1250 for a pump. I modded my Swiftech block with fixed 90 degree 1/2" barbs, that seal much better than just slipping 1/2" ID tubing over those pressure fittings
