I am looking to buy a PSU for my computer build for next month. I have used the PSU calculator which states I need around 630W of power (I went a little high on the fan count (8) and attached USB devices). As such, I am looking at a 700-750W PSU. With newegg's 10% off all PSU's $100 and above, I am jumping on the chance to buy a PSU.
I am looking at a Thermaltake 750W PSU. It's modular which is a plus. However, I am read some subpar reviews on Thermaltake's PSUs.

Should I be looking into another PSU? I prefer modular but it is never a deal breaker. Sadly, the Corsair 750W PSU is out of stock at the moment. I would really like to take advantage of the 10% off deal but for quality parts I am willing to go past the discount. Thanks for the advice.
I am looking for a PSU that can handle an overclocked Q6600, 4870x2, 8gb of 1066 ram, 300gb velociraptor, 640gb WD drive, not sure on mobo quite yet and about 4-5 fans.

Always good to have a little headroom in your unit for future upgrades and I see your on top of that. I would really consider looking into the Corsair 750 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006). It's very quiet and very effecient. The reviews for the most part have been outstanding. I quickly became a Corsair advocate the first time I got my hands on their PSU's. Rails have great support and it will accomodate a majority of your configurations.
Nothing wrong with the TT, but bang for buck even if you dont get it from Newegg the Corsair is a better value and significantly less in price.

but this would suit you better

(same price AMIR as the 750)
Leaves you headroom for expansion and cap aging.
600W is a serious draw, you getting 2x 470x2s??? OR 2x 280's?
If you are not going to run it full load very often you can get by with a high quality 700W range PSU but if this is primarily a gaming PC (IE when its on its gaming) then headroom is always good to have.

I am getting 1 4870x2 when it come sout in August. Since the calculator does not have the 4870x2 on the list, I substituted it with 2 4870s in CF which from what I have read requires more power than a 4870x2. My power usage for the system probably will be 550-600W. This is primarily a gaming PC hence the need for headroom. Are the Silverstone's reliable? Never read any reviews about them.

I reckon your power usage will actually be around 400-450w with 1x 4870x2.
You could run that on a hx620 if you wanted to, it also has some headroom.
Here's a review for the Silverstone 850w that neuro linked to http://jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=40
You could also look at the PC Power + Cooling Silencer 750w.

I am going to go with the Corsair 620HX. From everything I have read, looks like a solid PSU and is modular to boot. Thanks for all of the help!
