Sup dudes......

I have a Motorola Razr and when I try to send a pic in a text message it says unable to send, when I try and e-mail to myself either inserted or attached, it says unable to send. I have some really cool pictures on here I need to get off, because this is my work phone and I'm leaving the company soon.

I tried plugging it into my computer, but it doesn't add it as a drive or anything so I can pull the pics off. It seems to recognize the phone, but won't install it. I also tried Motorola phone tools and it says my phone isn't supported :(

Help? TY

Try BitPIM. Worked with my cheap phone, plus it's free since you won't have to pay for data.

Here's a guide for the Razr: http://motov3m.com/tiki-index.php?page=BITPIM

Does your phone have an SD card slot in it to try transferring that way?

Another option could be to push the pics to your computer via Bluetooth.

If you have a RAZR, you can get the files off via USB.

Look for the P2K drivers and a P2K software that will allow you to get the files off. MPT should work just as well but I prefer... P2KMan I believe. It's been a long while since I've fiddled with a RAZR.

First of all, are you shure you have picture messaging/email? That would make it unable to do that in the first place.

As for the computer recognizing the phone, I too spent hours trying to find the right too. I unfortunately am at work so can't help until later today, But I have the phone drivers and the working software to extract the photos. You can even upload your own ringtones!

I used bitpm and it found my phone and it can get information when I hit the "i" button, but it still doesn't retrieve any pictures. wtf

Where did you get the Phone tools from? Their software should support their products, shouldn't it?

After installing you ran the program and then plugged in the phone, so it installed the phone stuff right? (the windows installers don't install the proper software, you have to go through the motorolla phone tools stuff)

Bluetooth has never failed me for getting ringtones and pictures to and from my phones.
If you dont have bluetooth in your computer, get a dongle, they're cheap.

This is the driver. Should work for all moto V3cm phones.
http://mwnx.net/Handset_USB_Driver.msi (temp link, it'll be down after a while)

And as for program to use, the people have spoken, and it is Bitpim:
http://www.bitpim.org/

The settings are a little tricky. You do not want to auto detect**.

Go to Edit > Settings.
Phone type should be V3cm.
You'll want to browse for Com port (asuming you installed the drivers) it should be COM3 or some other numner.
Click OK

Then go to View > View Filesystem
You should have a "Filesystem" option to the left (above logs).
Navigation to this folder: /motorola/shared/picture/
And your photo's SHAUD be there.

** = I have metropcs and couldn't "narrow" down my phone.

Crap, forgot that it could be different for CDMA phones. I used P2kMan on my GSM RAZR V3.

When I plug the razr in to the computer it says V3re, and I still haven't been able to get bitpm to work. Just keeps saying that it cant detect my phone :(

Is windows able to detect your phone?
Because if it can, you should probably re-install bitpim.

Yes. However I just got the pictures off via bluetooth and my boss's Mac. It worked a lot easier than fooling with usb crap and all kinds of software.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I'm sort of surprised that nobody said Bluetooth right off...
