Hey all.

Can anyone shed any light on what M$ updates is asking me to download with this......

------------
Size: 11.4 MB

ATI Technologies Inc. Video software update released in September, 2007

More information for this update can be found at http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20102369
--------------

Is it an ATI Vid driver? or some other file related to my Radeon card that windows XP needs?

Reason I ask is I have the latest drivers installed for my gpu - in fact I have the beta drivers Catalyst 8.7 which are newer.

That file update says it was released in 2007 - so if it's the normal video driver for radeon cards, why is it asking me to update with it when i have a newer version installed already?

Anyone shed any light on it for me?

MS update sometimes will attempt to push out updates for system hardware. Occasionally it's the latest revision like for an ethernet card, but for videocard drivers it'll usually be a way-out-of-date basic driver.

I tried using the MS update driver as a test once with a x800pro and it temporarily crippled my card. So yeah, just don't use it.

Just click the "don't show again" button to hide the update.
