Ive already spent the money on a dd cc a long time ago, and I can get my proc to about 37-38C on hot days. I was wondering if it would be worth it to replace it with a bong, to get a 5C or more drop below 37C, which would be great. Anyone who had a rad and converted to a bong please reply, or just give me your opinion anyways :D

I had a radiator but converted to a cooling tower to drop cpu temp. Two weeks ago it hit 39°C in sunny Brisbane, Australia but my CPU temp never got above 37°C under load. At the time my Duron 750 was running at 1000.

I would only use a radiator now if I wanted to take it somewhere. Enen then I take the cooling tower sometimes as it tends to turn heads.

I converted from a Cooling Cube to a bong cooler last summer. If I recall correctly, my temps dropped about 7C. The big drawback with bongs is maintenance. With the dually rig I am building, the Cube is going back into service.

Is the "maintenance" refilling it with water? I have to do that with my humidifier anyway :D! Where can I read up on them? What sort of noise do they make?

There are a couple of articles here (http://overclockers.com/topiclist/index31.asp#WATER COOLING).
Also, maintenance means cleaning it out every couple of months, which sucks if you don't desing your bong with cleaning in mind, but which shouldn't be so bad if you think ahead.

Any articles on actually making a bong? I've read through the overclockers.com articles mostly already :).

THis one too? (http://overclockers.com/articles389/)
He gives some instructions on how to build them on page 3 (http://overclockers.com/articles389/index03.asp)
I got that same showerhead, but I'm still waiting for my spir@l waterblock to get here (any month now  ).

you might consider doing both, i use a radiator and a bong, and my water temps alone dropped 5c. I run the hot water from the blocks to the radiator and the output from the radiator to the bong input, this allows me to simply remove the bong from the circuit when i wanna move the computer someplace else, or eliminate it when not wanted/needed in the circuit. then it's just a standalone setup.

I would not use a shower head as they are not as efficient as a spray chamber. However, if you are going to use a spray chamber then you will have to install a mist eliminator. The other downside of using a spray chamber is that not many (if any) pond pump will give you enough head to operate it correctly. My pump supplies the spray chamber at 6.3 l/min at 6m head. Most pond pumps peak at 5m head at 0 flow

Here is a pic of my spray head.
