Okay guys, need some help here! I put a Shuttle board together about a week ago and this thing runs great until ya leave it alone and it powers down or goes into sleep mode then when ya stir the rodent it freezes up and has vertical colored line throughout the screen. I can't shut it off by the power switch only with reset button or switch to power supply. Does anybody have an idea what may be going on with this crazy board, because I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software problem. Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated.:)

I don't see anything in bois under power management settings that controls that part of it. Is there something I'm missing?

have you tried disabling all power-saving options in your control panels? just a thought

i have the same board, there are power managment settings in the bios but the ones you probably have to change are in windows. right click on desktop, properties, screen saver, then power, and the settings should be in there. (these are the directions for win xp, it might be a little difrent for you)

This is strange. The computer doesn't work in system stand-by or turning off monitor. So it's set to never turn off monitor or to go into system stand-by but the HDD is set to shut down in thirty mins and screen saver is up and running. This still doesn't help explain what the problem is with this system and why I can't shut down with the power button, it works fine when its running . I've got this board in another system without this problem. Maybe a bios flash is in order. I'll have to go to Shuttles site and see whats up with the latest bios.

Amen Bro. but I'm running with a 431W Enermax and the house is about 3 years old. I don't think that is what is causing this, besides I have the same system running elsewhere in the house with no problem. I guess the power supply could still be the culprit. It's running just a hair below 12V & 5V.

assuming you're running anything but XP, can you press the windows key.....press the up arrow key.....press enter twice and the system will reboot? I have/had a monitor that did not like to be woke up...I don't know if it sends a surge to the machine causing it to lock up or what, but the only fix was to reboot. (oh and....pressing the power button on the front, and holding it for 4 seconds should work fine) I had to change the vid card it was on, but the monitor works fine on the new vid card, and the vid card (Rage 128 Pro) works fine in another machine. I posted this problem some months ago, but no one could figure out my problem.
