I got a new backup chip a 700mhz Duron ACKA.. so far after using pencil i can only hit 900mhz with it... kinda dissapointed.. i even tried only 1.75v cause i remember my old 800mhz Duron didn't like 1.85v but would only post at 1ghz with 1.75 but not post at all with 1.85v.

well this duron does post at 1.85v but doesn't go any faster in fact it posts at 900mz with stock voltage of what is that 1.65v... yeah so its interesting...

note burning in at the moment with prime95 @ 500mhz w/ 1.95v (IWill adds .1v to what i set it at)

*side note

put chip in freezer before i popped it in system today was *frozen* for 3hrs before pulled out and let warm up to room temp

so i don't know if that had a negative effect on it but i figured what the heck!

another note... am using stock *Radio Shack Heatsink on this puppy right now cause my SK-6 is a pain in my buttochs to change on and of and on and off again and again.. but i will switch over to that in a few minutes cause right now im running 40C idle

even is 900 is the max that CPU will do....
150 FSB (not that unrealisting) x6 is going to be one fast 900.

And your temps do seem a high with that heatsink @ idle
are you sure you got in on correct?

yeah... i was running it at 150fsb.. with my generic pc-133 SDRAM which will do 160fsb then crap out.. not bad eh?? and i switched to my sk-6 bu that didn't help any so 909mhz is the limit on it but oh well.. i got bored with it and slapped back in my 1.2ghz tbird oc @ 1.4ghz

so im happy
