Which should i buy?
XP 1600+ @ $114 (which has been recommended as a very good overclocking chip)
OR
XP 1700+ @ $128 (this is just $14 more!!!)
OR
XP 1800+ @ $169 (I looked on the avg overclock and this has gotten really nice scores as well!)
I'm soo confused as to which i should buy...
Also, i know the Thoroughbred is coming out in a few months... so i definately don't want to go high end XP, since i will probably upgrade to a Thoroughbred core in 6-8 months. Any recommendations? Oh, i'm also going to be using watercooling/air cooling mix with this chip.

This would be better served in the AMD CPU forum.
Well, having no experience with this, here is my best guess:
For price for speed, the XP1600+ wins. But that is probably to be expected since it is the slower chip. Since it has good OCing results (as you've said) you may wish to go for it.
Remeber.... I have no experience in this matter, and take no responsibility for Thelemac's chickens eating your CPU...

usually common sence plays a part in this
normally when you have a question about an amd you put it in "AMD CPU's"

Your being new to the forum is why I let you know the proper place to post. No offense meant :)
i have a 1600+, it runs cool, good price, good overclocking abilities even though i have not fully taken advantage of them, i would recomend it over the 1700+ or 1800+ (as u can see in my sig, im running at the speed of a 1700+ with stock HSF)

They are all good. Personally, I would buy the fastest chip in my budget and then overclock the crap out of it. But thats just me I guess. But let me tell you that if you treat the 1600+ right, you will be very happy with the results...just be sure to be careful when you try to unlock it...veeeeeeery careful

What CPU do you have?
I think that it's waste money if you are going to get Thor :) after 6 months.
I personally wait to get the new chip and not change my 1Ghz t-bird
