GO DOWNLOAD COMBAT ARMS. ive been playing this game for the past week and i can honestly say, its perhaps the best mp shooter ive played since cs. the game is what cs:source shouldve been. it has very similar shooting characteristics as cs, very very similar. except on top[ of this, it adds many features that make the game so much more enjoyable to play. for example you can purchase a large variety of weapons then mod them with high cap mags, silencers, acog scopes, etc. the game is free and only 440mb, its an absolute must have. i can honestly say as someone who was a faithful league play competitor in cs, this is one of the most enjoyable games ive played in a very very long time. the game is still in beta and does have certain bugs or missing features that make you scratch your head, but ultimately the gameplay is what matters and its awesome. id say probably the biggest complaints i have are some odd model animations and some weird hitboxes.
i am a huge fan of cod4 and id say the gameplay is very similar on paper, because of the fast respawns, customizable weapons, etc. however the game is so much more enjoyable for me because i was a cs fanatic and its a very well done clone. its essentially cs on steroids. i think with a few fixes and gameplay updates it could easily be one of the top competitive shooters out there!

Eh, the best shooter IMO is CoD4 but I will take a look when I get home as you have peaked my interest. :)

the game is such a treat =). i think obviously cod4 is the more polished game, but i feel like this game has a foundation for the gameplay ive been looking for, for the longest time. the recoil is similar to cs though maybe a little less difficult to control but man it really brings me back to the old days when i was popping ppl with my ak. anyways yeah glad you guys are giving the game a chance.
Its getting kind of annoying. Ive been waiting close to 30 minutes now with my comf email from nexon so I can play.

Yah, I can't see to get into the game either. Every time I give it my password, I get disconnected. I tried putting in one of my alts and that came up as a wrong one, so I know that they are getting the PW correctly but then I get booted immediately.

I got my comf email shortly after I posted yesterday. It wont let you on until you confirm your account via the email they send. After it works like a charm. Kind of annoying still that it takes ~40 minutes to get the comf email. But the game is free and GREAT!

That could be it. They never sent me a confirmation email. And they will not let me into the screen where I can get it resent without it. So I am going to try my hotmail addy and see if the works.

hmm its really odd that you guys experienced problems with getting activation emails =/ i made two accounts and got emails instantly. anyways yes mepis it is AWESOME isnt it!? dont forget to buy body armor and a helmet btw. my favorite setup is a backpack with ak47 and an L96. man its such a sick combo i am pretty much a walking killing machine! the game is so reminiscent of cs i cant stress this enough. anyways one issue that i think has started to bother me is that the close quarters combat is always a little sloppy. most of the time you end up strafing and clipping into the other guy, forcing you to completely turn around to continue shooting him. maybe i didnt explain that right but youll definitely notice when you play the game
I didn't have any problems with close quarter combat. But then again we have different systems, and I'm sure as well, different fighting styles too. Everyone has their own unique style when they game.
I'll have to try that combo and different weapons. I didn't even actually notice the ability to buy different weapons for periods of time until my wife was yelling at me to get off my laptop. So I'll be playing with a trying that.
I can also only imagine what the game looks like on your guys systems. I'm using the laptop in my sig with a geforce 6150 and the game still doesn't look or play that bad. It's nice how well it scales. Man is it hard to game wit a 6150. I have use every tweak I can find and modified drivers and everything else. I sure wish I could Ocing ability with my laptop. I can't find a program that will let me OC anything in it. I would go for the mod of putting a mobile water cooling system on it to. I just picked up an aquagate s1 the other day for $20 for the complete system and havnt found a use for it. I would mod it for my laptop If I could OC. Oh well, I guess my current heatsink and fan mods will have to do. (My laptop is out of warranty now so I have no worries about modding it anymore. I even have a SMA external connector on it now for high gain antennas and what not.)
Just got on to try and play. Just noticed server will be down for a little while till roughly ~3ish east coast time.
Servers running again as of an hour or so ago. Gotta say I'm addicted. Im actually finding time to play this game. First game that has had be addicted in a very long time.

They still havnt sent you the confirmation email to your first address? Did it go to your spam box? It took a little while to get mine but roughly ~40 minutes.

I've used two email addresses and two accounts today and still no email confirmation. I waited on the first one a few hours, then signed up with the second one, still nothing in the inbox or spam folders.

Too bad I'm not entirely impressed with the game. I prefer COD on hardcore which too me was a lot like CS, this is like COD vanilla, which I don't care for. The weapon system is kind of interesting, and the gameplay is fun enough, but I'll opt for COD.
I downloaded the game, installed it. And when I tried to run it, my computer just froze. Looks like I'm not going to try this one.

been playing this game for about 2 weeks now. I absolutely love it. I Own at this game. My favorite combo is g36 with silencer and the L96. CSS for me is a hard game to play. After playing Combat Arms and then trying to play CSS css no longer feel's right. I absolutely love this game and i play it everyday. Just hate how much it costs to buy the weapons for a long period of time. Junk Flea and Snow valley own!

Just installed and setup...bug already...music keeps playing for like 20secs upon closing the game!
-Game seems awful quiet on the snow map at least. Only heard sounds when I was the one doing anything. Everything else was silent.
-Do headshots exist in this?
-Visually it looks good and doesnt break the system.

Cute... but it sucks.
I really liked the way they handled the guns...
...and that's all I liked. The map (least the one I played on), was too damned small. The gameplay... to limited. There really wasn't a hell of a lot you could do. Even Team Fortress 2... which is about as Old School as you want to get in 2008, is more advanced.
Even for free, there are better options.
There's F.E.A.R. COMBAT, Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, I think you can get Half Life 2 Deathmatch free with virtually any video card on the market (just have to sign-up for a Steam account.)
I would say it's not bad for free... but it kinda is.
First I thought the graphics were just too ridiculously beneath me... Then I cranked up the resolution and did 8x Anti-Aliasing... that didn't help much.
Maybe some of the other maps are cool... I don't know. Like I said I liked the guns, liked the scoring system and the way it called headshots, hated EVERYTHING else... down to the clothes.

Now they have not sent anything to three email addresses. And yes, I checked my spam boxes. Apparently, I have sent myself three different links to the infamous Angelina Jolie XXX video in the past couple of hours. I wonder why I can't remember sending those?

I still like the game. It's nice it runs on my crap hardware and well to. It very much is modeled after your extreme enthusiast FPS online player. Most very hardcore gamers will turn graphics down to achieve 120+ constant frames per second and buy a ridiculously expensive mouse for a high DPI or FPS now of days to make the game as smooth as possible to make the headshot that much easier. It's been done since the wuake and unreal days.

Any game that lets you call in an air strike as you watch everything burn in front of you gloriously is a good game.

New Warrock but the companie changed names. The pages looks alot like the korean one. Any who soon the game will be so buggy and it will be $15 a month to play and people who play will be given a un fair advantage.

MM, played it some. Finished first on my second match (felt so proud). Then constantly finished second/third.
My impressions.
1) Bazooka is underpowered. I mean, srsly.
2) Grenades are overpowevered.
3) It's amazing that you can pick up everyone's guns.
4) No gameplay whatsoever.
5) Basically america's army with much less options but quick respawn.
*shrugs* nothing amazing or ground breaking.

The game was fun at first, but way!!! too many people hacking and glitching. They've ruined the game, and the creators (Nexon) has not kept up with it and maintained the game. Their forums is full of people reporting hackers, but I've not seen Nexon do anything about it. they released a patch about two weeks ago, but all that did was add another map (twin towers) and that was hacked by the next day. :(
